We've put together handy instructions for fitting the boots in the Calf - please see here.
For the Explorer, please see here.
Many of our long boots are designed with between 2-5cm worth of stretch – split across 4-5 elastic panels to help fit a range of calf sizes. The Calf Width for all can be found on the “view Size Guide”.
In the Regina, Heeled Regina and Explorer, if you are between calf sizes, we recommend the smaller calf fit (Narrow, Standard and Sporting).
When new, if the zip won’t fully go up the leg, or the calf feels too tight when the boots are fully zipped, don’t worry!
Wear the boots around the house and on soft surfaces whilst wearing the suede or leather in, with the zip as far up as you can get it. Body heat, pressure and use will soften the elastic (where present) and suede/ leather, allowing the zip to come up further (little by little) with wear, before eventually sliding up smoothly!
A little extra explanation
Leather and Suede (being natural products) have an inherent stretch within them that will become apparent with wear. By wearing the boots around the house or whilst doing basic activities, the suede and leather will begin to soften and stretch (thanks to body heat and pressure). Prolonged use and wear will make this much easier over time - Persevere!
Don't worry - the boots will only stretch as much as required (where pressure is being applied). Leather will eventually stretch to the same degree as suede, but will take a little longer, and feel firmer/ tighter to start.
